Pets are precious members of our families and deserve to live long and healthy lives. Just like us, regular dental care is a vital part of maintaining overall health. Regular dental cleanings in correlation with subsequent home care can prevent bad breath, gingivitis and tarter build up. Being left untreated over a period of time can result in oral pain, tooth loss and most importantly infection. Oral infections can result in bacteria entering the blood stream affecting the kidneys, liver, heart and in some cases, the nervous system.

Research shows that approximately 70 percent of dogs and cats over the age of two suffer from signs of dental disease.

Wellness blood testing and urine testing can be used as a baseline and help detect any underlying illnesses that your pet may have even if they are not showing any symptoms yet. This test also lets us know if your pet is an eligible candidate for anaesthesia. This is especially important in our older pets as they become increasingly susceptible to illness such as liver and kidney disease.
